Attaching a Walking Foot

January 17, 2010

A walking foot is special attachment that feeds all 3 layers at the same time through the sewing machine. I highly recommend having one. If you don’t have one that’s okay for now, you’ll just have to sew slower on your machine to ensure the all layers are fed evenly through the sewing machine. In fact you’ll have to sew slower with a walking foot anyway. The instructions that arrive with your machine recommend sewing no more than 75% of your top speed. Ideally, you’ll want to sew slowly to maintain control of quilt and ensure that your lines are straight.

Now, on to attaching the foot. Since it’s easier to show you I made a quick video of attaching your walking foot.
