Making the Backing

January 17, 2010

I’m not a fan of center seams, so we are going to sew 3 panels together. This will give us one center panel and two side panels.

Step 1:

Trim selvages.

Step 2:

Cut fabric into 2 pieces of size 45 inches by 58 inches.

Step 3:

Take one of the panels and cut it in half. This will give you two 22.5  by 58 inch rectangles.

Step 4:

Sew the smaller rectangles to each side of the larger panel.

I’m skipping this step because I’m using thrifted bedsheets for my backing, so they are plenty wide to begin with and very convenient. Also. I’m out of batting. So it may take me until the end of the week to get the next few steps done!
Glad you’re feeling a little better; take it easy!
