Day 23: Binding… Pt 2

January 24, 2010

The first post was getting kinda long, so I broke it into 2 parts.

Part 1 ended with attaching the loose ends of the binding to the quilt and part begins with trimming the batting to 1/4 inch away from the quilt top. Trim all the way around the quilt.

Trim batting to 1/4 inch

Then press the binding open.

After you press the binding open, fold the binding over and pin in place. Be sure the binding extends past the seam line because we are going to “stitch in the ditch” around the quilt to secure the binding.

Videos are loading now and should be available shortly.

Hi..I’m confused about the quilting after looking at your pics. Did you quilt along side of the horizontal seams (on both sides of each horizontal seam) or did you do the veritcal seams too?

      Hi Brandy!
You’re correct — the instructions are to quilt both horizontal and vertical lines. I only quilted along one side because I ran out of time and needed to post the tutorials. If I had a little bit more time all lines would have been quilted properly.
