The Supplies, Crafts and More Planning

September 22, 2010

The Sew-A-Thon requires that I provide my own patterns, fabric, notions, and machine…. oh, my.

I figure the best way to prepare is to have a plan. I know…it’s a little hardcore for just one night of crafting, but I really want to win the grand prize. Oh, did I forget to mention the grand prize? It’s a weekend sewing retreat worth $600 in the GA mountains. Nice, huh?

Let’s get on with the planning.

1) Projects

I’ve categorized the projects from complex to easy. That way as the night progress I can work on the least complex craft at the end of the night. Not entirely sure it workout, but as now it seems like a solid strategy.

Baby Quilt– 6 hrs

Cathedral Pillow Case

Quilted Tote Bag — 3 hours

Simple Tote Bag — roughly 1.5 hours

Pot Holders — 2.5 hours

Double Sided Napkins — 1.5 hrs for 4

Quilted Coasters– 1 hr

2) Supplies

Fabric

Thread

Sewing Needles

Scissors (big and small)

Bobbins

Extension Cord

Rotary Cutter/Blades and Mat

Rulers — 3.5 inch 6.5 inch and 10 in square

Iron and Towel

Best Press

Hand Needles

Needle Threader

Hmm….Did I miss anything?
