Mendocino Sewing Kit (WIP)

I’ve started making my swap partner’s sewing kit on Monday and surprisingly it looks like I’ll complete it this week. Though, it really shouldn’t take me longer than a week to finish this. It’s fairly simple sewing.

The only thing I didn’t like about it, is the hand binding around the front side of it. I don’t have the best hand sewing skill and I hate that I my stitches will be seen on the exterior. For now, I’m going to leave it alone and finish it. If I find this stitches to be down right unbearable, I’ll pick them out and machine bind the whole thing.

If you curious about the sewing pattern, it’s from Rashida Coleman-Hale’s book, I Heart Patchwork. The fabric pattern is designed by Heather Ross and the collection is called Mendocino. Unfortunately, it’s out of print and somewhat difficult to locate the mermaid print. The sea horses are much easier to find.
